The last posts for #MarchMeettheMaker it’s been great taking part in this and I’ve really enjoyed seeing what other makers are up to as well. The prompts are so handy for coming up with ideas of what to post. If you’re a designer or maker and are considering giving March Meet the Maker a go then I highly recommend you do!

Day 22 - Proud of
I'm proud of graduating from the Glasgow School of Art and of my graduate collection, both the designs and that I made it completely within the GOTS certification. It feels crazy that this is almost a year ago but it was such an intense moment of production and the work came together so quickly in the end. I remember not quite believing that I had got on to the course let alone graduating!
You can see the full collection here.
Day 23 - Top tip or advice
I don't think KYE has been going long enough for me to be dishing out advice but in general: do what you love, keep learning and enjoy it! 🤗
Day 24 - Customers / Feedback
Here's a wee bit of feedback from a Bespoke Wall Hanging. I really enjoy making these and love hearing about the reaction from the kids (and parents!). I'm just starting out and receiving any kind of positive feedback.. be it a review, an emoji comment on Instagram or messages of encouragement is so important. They keep me motivated and give me the confidence to carry on. Thank you for all the great support so far (but please keep it coming!!)
Day 25 - How it’s made
A video from last year printing one of my pieces for my graduate collection. Think it shows the process pretty well (also wish I could print this fast!) .
Day 26 - Self care
As with anything creative it is a bit of a rollercoaster...some days you have lots of lovely orders and great feedback and some days you are doubting everything you make. The best thing for me in the down dips are to chat to my wonderful pals (especially other creatives), they know exactly how you feel and know that you just need a wee bit of confidence. Also: coffee (can't wait to go back to fully caffeinated!!) ☕🤰 'Petals' risograph pictured, now available on my website.
Day 27 - Anything Goes
Just a little drawing for today.
Day 28 - Packaged
My packaging is pretty boring as I try to avoid using plastic or too much paper...I wrap my wall hangings in recycled newspaper and then corrugated cardboard (with little bits of washi tape for a bit of colour!)
Day 29 - Most difficult make
For most difficult make I thought I'd share some of my work from when I was studying in Japan. I had such a fantastic time studying at Tama Art University and I learnt so much in such a short amount of time. Learning complicated textile techniques in another language is always going to be a challenge but it was also so rewarding!
Projects: EPSON watch strap and screen design > CMYK devore > black and white repeat > Katazome
Day 30 - Support
Couldn't / wouldn't have done any of the work I've made through uni and after without this guy.☝️ Husband, super-supporter and best pal. Also, all my lovely family and friends who keep me right, you know who you are 😘
Day 31 - Product in use
Last day of March Meet the Maker and I'm enjoying a lovely break on Skye. The prompt today is product in use. I don't have many product shots just yet but here's a couple of mothers day cards that have been sent to some wonderful mothers today 🤗
That’s it! Thanks for following along and for all the lovely likes and comments. Until next year!!
